Discovery Health Partners Announces Webinar on Mass Tort Identification and Recovery Solution for Health Payers

ITASCA, IL (PRWEB) February 12, 2015

Discovery Health Partners, a division of LaunchPoint, is offering a webinar on “Best Practices in Mass Tort Identification and Recovery Strategies” on February 24 at 2 p.m. EST. The registration link is available here. Elizabeth A. Longo, General Counsel for Discovery Health Partners, will discuss emerging processes and technologies that automate and streamline the mass tort recovery efforts of payers and can result in millions of dollars recovered. In addition, attendees will learn how to:

Identify members who have received medical care and a settlement as a result of an allegedly defective drug or medical device.
Understand the basic processes for obtaining mass tort recoveries.
Distinguish the identification and recovery process required for traditional subrogation/TPL cases vs. mass tort cases.
Recognize recent mass tort cases and their impact on recoveries.

“Our webinar will address strategies for giving payers a more proactive and systematic approach to mass tort identification and recoveries through a combination of technology, analytics, and legal expertise,” said Longo. “Many recovery opportunities associated with mass tort litigation are often overlooked, but hold huge implications for payers. When you consider some plans could have hundreds or thousands of members impacted by a single mass tort (such as by a defective pelvic mesh or hip implant), the financial impact could be staggering.”

Discovery Health Partners recently added a Mass Tort solution to Discovery Subrogation, which is part of the Discovery Payment Integrity Suite of software and solutions. The Mass Tort solution leverages a proprietary cloud-based healthcare analytics platform for data integration, identification, case management, and reporting.

Drs. Nader Bazzi and Rima Bazzi Now Offer Modern Dental Implants in Dearborn and Canton, MI, for Patients Looking for a More Permanent Solution to Missing Teeth

Canton, MI (PRWEB) January 09, 2015

Dr. Nader Bazzi and Dr. Rima Bazzi announce that patients with missing teeth can now receive modern dental implants from their Dearborn and Canton offices. Implants are an ideal option for patients who want a natural-looking and long-term solution for their missing teeth.

Patients who are suffering from the many negative effects of one or more missing teeth can now receive dental implants through Drs. Nader and Rima Bazzi. Drs. Bazzi now offer modern dental implants that look and function very much like natural teeth. In most cases, people cannot tell when a person has one or more implants placed.

There are many different causes for missing teeth, including genetics, accidents, sports injuries and certain hormonal conditions. However, one of the most common causes of tooth loss is advanced gum disease. When gum disease or any other condition causes one or more teeth to fall out of the mouth, it can result in diminished self esteem and decreased ability to effectively take in nutrition. Additionally, when missing teeth are not promptly replaced, the jaw bone is no longer stimulated in those areas and starts to degrade. This can lead to significant loss of bone density over time and can even cause the remaining teeth in the mouth to shift out of their usual places. Dental implants can help patients avoid these uncomfortable side effects of tooth loss.

In order for implants to be placed, the patient must have sufficient jaw bone to support the implant. If the jaw bone is not dense enough, a bone graft may be used to build up the affected area prior to implant placement. Once the patient is able to receive the titanium implants, Dr. Bazzi places them directly into the jaw bone and allows the area to recover and bond with the implants during a process referred to as osseointegration. Once the area has sufficiently healed, a natural-looking crown is then placed on top of the implant and the area is once again allowed to heal.

Because implants are very natural-looking and strong, they are an ideal solution for patients who do not want to deal with the discomfort of dentures. Patients with missing teeth who want to find out if they are candidates for dental implants may now do so by scheduling an initial consultation with Dr. Bazzi’s Canton or Dearborn practices.
